I have never seen this, but on the strength of the Criterion label, the description, and the half-off sale at Amazon, I’m taking a chance.

I have always loved film. Even in grade school, I used to look forward to those “educational” films about faraway places or road safety, good or bad. Some of the good ones might have been made by Herk Harvey, director of this cult horror movie from the early sixties.

Inspiration from this movie can be seen in such films as “Night of the Living Dead” and “Beetlejuice”.

I really liked the other “educational” films directed by Herk for Centron. They include about four of his commercial films to give you an idea of what he was doing before and after “Carnival of Souls”.

Note that the Netflix rental seems to be the Criterion collection version, but without the second disk. This is only judging by their description of the movie.

Recommendation: Possible Purchase
