From: [K E Jones] at [newcastle.ac.uk] (Rich Johnston) Newsgroups: rec.arts.comics.misc Subject: Read between the Tekno lines Date: 12 Jun 1995 10:04:30 -0500 This Tekno thread was very interesting and it was a lot of fun, but reading between the lines gives an interesting perspective. Tekno, rightly saw the original anonymous post as a threat and wheeled out creators to give themselves net credence. However, they were very choosty in the allegations they chose to refute, ignoring the financial and personal irregularities. The original Majel Rodennberry post had a couple of flaws when Stone posted them, mispelling of Tekno, and the fact that Majel hadn't actually written the piece. When it was reposted a week later, these had been changed. Rodennberry didn't write the response, we are told she approved it. This does cast doubt on whether this was the case with previous creator quotes and we weren't told about it. Tekno produces some fine comics and some shite comics. However, the Tekno morality seems dubious, especially Veitch's "Whoring Rick Vietch" comment in the Journal. Comments?
