No, we cannot. But we can be reasonably confident, >given a thorough background investigation. Back around 1980 or 81 a person by the name of George Banks was hired as a prison guard in Pa. one of his issue weapons was a Colt AR-15. He later used this weapon to kill both of his wives and 11 or 12 of his kids. My point to this is the state didn't do a very good job of checking this person, he had spent time in a Pa. prison for armed robbery . Yet they gave him a weapon and ammo. Did the media blame the state and ask for an investigation ? No, instead they screamed for more gun laws against honest citizens with exemptions for police officers. This was when I became convinced the media had a private agenda, with no regard for facts or logic. Anti-gun people will ignore the fact that the background check that a citizen goes through is the same that a police officer goes through. They will continue to put the police high on a pedestal above the average law abiding citizen, until they get all the guns away from the honest people then the pedestal will come crashing down. But it may be too late. Myron Petro NRA, USPSA DVC y'all ************************************************************************** The opinions included in this post are my sole responsibility.
