I spoke with his court appointed lawyer in Waco, who told me that he's still jailed because INS (Immigration and Naturalization) has a "hold" on him, as an "illegal alien." I didn't think to ask if that's because his visa ran out or how long it's might've been like that. The resolu- tion seems obvious enough though -- deport him. Better that than hold- ing an innocent and uncharged man as a prisoner in jail month after month. More evidence that he is being held as a religious prisoner, an example to all who aren't in the system. Here's part of his most recent letter to me, dated from the 13th, and received today (15th). The envelope was taped shut with scotch tape where it had been sliced open for inspection as was the last one, and others. ---< begin letter >--- Dear Stephen, I received your letter of July 10th. Once again it was re- warding to hear from you. I have already started receiving mail from the computer net-works. The prospect of being able to communicate the Truth of Mt. Carmel is very refreshing. By now Rita has probably informed you of my lawyer's address. In any case, his name is T. Bradley Cates, operating out of Waco. With regards to the other things you enquired about. Yes, for the second time I have been stripped of my belongings. It was not too long ago my Bible was returned. My son and daughter aged 4 and 7 are now with relatives in England. I believed the familiar surroundings would be of some comfort to them. I love them dearly, however the know- ledge of their appropriate care and happiness will suffice until we are securely reunited. The length of my stay in Coryell County Jail is uncertain. I am prevented by jail rules from revising my visitors list until August 9th. My lawyer is attempting to get this changed, allowing unlimited number of visitors. I shall keep you informed of developments. With reference to your sidenote. [That would be my note about a dry river bed that runs across Arabia, perhaps one of the rivers of Genesis 2. --Sdt] It is interesting that to the north, Jerusalem, God intends to re-establish His kingdom. From the midst of the [house?] will flow living waters, out of which the Tree of Life will emerge, (Ezekiel 47). It appears that was the sight of the Garden of Eden. That whole region is covered with mystery soon to be revealed, under the 6th Seal. I had mentioned in my letter something of a desire to com- municate something of the faith of the Davidians to you. En- closed is a brief attempt to capture in writing our faith and hope. Hopefully we can pursue further discussion, these notes can be considered a point of common reference. Please type them and return x10 copies to me. There are others re- questing information and I lack the facilities. Stephen this is much appreciated. Livingston Fagan ---< end letter >--- And I'll provide the text of Livingston's enclosure forthcoming. His address remains: Livingstone Fagan CC Jail, 510 Leon St. Gatesville, Tx 76528 When the time comes I hope we'll still be able to send mail out of the new re-education (boot)camps. | -- J -- "But this cometh to pass, that the word might | be fulfilled that is written in their law, | stephen They hated me without a cause."
