Date: Sun, 30 Jul 1995 10:47:55 -0400 (EDT) From: Carol Moore <[c--oo--e] at [CapAccess.org]> To: waco2 <[alt activism] at [cs.utexas.edu]>, [alt conspiracy] at [cs.utexas.edu], Subject: Waco Hearing Update (fwd) This one will be short since I am taking notes from last week so I'll be ready with list of reasons to prosecute who by tuesday. Please feel free to redistribute message. :-) Big news from last week: Thurs: The republicans got FBI commanders in Waco Jeff Jamar, Dick Rogers and Byron Sage to say they were just poking holes in the building to insert gas and give people escape routes. Also got them to sy they didn't hear any discussions of spreading fuel on the FBI bug that was specifically there for that purpose. They also admitted maybe didn't specifcally tell Webster Hubbell abot David Koresh's all important surrender letter of 4/14/93. Friday: Republicans got Hubbell and the top FBI guys--Sessions and Potts-- to admit that they didn't know FBI thought Davidians likely to fire on tanks, that while FBI may have faxed Koresh's letter to FBI HQ, sessions and potts didn't see it. But then Rep. Shadegg pulled out pictures of the collapsed gymnasium and challenged them-- is this just poking holes? They finally admitted that, yes, there was a plan to demolish the gymnasium and that it had been in their briefing papers. But none would admit whether or not Janet Reno had ever figured out that plan existed. And they said, what FBI guys said Thurs--FBI guys in Waco totally in charge, though Reno could call it off if wanted. In the afternoon Davidian Clive Doyle did excellent job telling their side of the story and even Democrats were nice to him except one who accused him of starting the fire which killed his daughter. The govt. fire experts lied repeatedly while Rick Sherrow, an ethical fire investigator working for civil suit attorneys, could not fully explain reasons that fire might be "accidental"--ie, tank-caused-- because feds have been withholding evidence from the civil suits! Zeliff didn't ask Brad Branch to testify, but between talking to Branch and hearing from you all, he did ask Clive about Branch's story ATF agents didn't yell search warrant, shot dogs and shot first at front door. At one point one Republican told Schumer when he was complaining about Davidians and their attorneys and the unfairness of it all--we could have had whole Panel of Davidians. WHICH IS WHAT THEY MUST DO when have Senate hearings. Monday: Rogers, Sage, Jamar will be called back and grilled on whether they did mislead their superiors in order to get it over with--and why. We may get some prosecutions out of this yet! (Byron Sage, the chief negotiator himself, came up to me and tried to intimidate me because I took a photo of Potts walking down the hall. "Who are you! Why are you taking those pictures! Just shows how vicious these people are!) Tuesday: Will Janet Reno break down in tears when she admits she just didn't realize that the FBI was not following in orders to be safe and to negotiate and that once she left the FBI Operations Center they intended to go in and do their worst--dismantle the building and drive them out, no matter what. Will TV cover it? THANK HEAVENS FOR C-SPAN! (NRA is currently selling transcripts for $10 per day to members.) We all know that we cannot allow BATF to come in, kill 6 civilians, lie about it and get away with it. We can't let FBI go in, sabotage negotionas, blame the victims and kill 76 more and lie about it. Like Rep. Heineman said--the US Congress is on trial here. So is the U.S. Constitution. SINCE A COUPLE OF PEOPLE HAVE ASKED ME-- Here's a list of the Davidian victims...
