From: [s--da--e] at [qadas.com] (Sundance) Newsgroups: talk.politics,talk.politics.drugs,alt.drugs.hard Subject: The Great Usenet Pisscop Registry (1/2) Date: Fri, 19 Jul 1996 20:33:40 -0600 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Prohibition will work great injury to the cause of temperance. It is a species of intemperance within itself, for it goes beyond the bounds of reason in that it attempts to control a man's appetite by legislation, and makes a crime out of things that are not crimes. - Abraham Lincoln THE GREAT USENET PISSCOPS REGISTRY Last revision date 07/12/96 This registry is comprised of two lists: the first contains companies that have instituted urine or other Human Quality testing, and the second is comprised of companies that do not conduct Human Quality Tests, or that are known to have public policies AGAINST the invasion of privacy that Human Quality Tests constitute. The Registry exists to crusade against the current United State's government-sponsored misinformation and terrorism designated the War on Drugs. This is about individual privacy and freedom, and is not advocacy of any sort of substance abuse, either legal and illegal. Since drug testing cannot be correlated to impairment what is the point other than snooping. In the light of corporate willingness to assist in the erosion of our personal freedoms, this list maintains a strong plea to boycott the purchase of products from the companies presented in list one. When an employer has the right to invade your body, any further regard of liberty, freedom, and individual choice is merely lip service. HOW TO OBTAIN THE CURRENT REGISTRY A current copy of the Registry will be available via email and usenet on a monthly basis. *via email - a copy of this is sent to the URINE-TEST listserv at [URINE TEST] at [CALYX.NET] *via usenet - a copy of the Registry is sent to ALT.DRUGS and TALK.POLITICS.DRUGS If you would like to obtain a copy of this list at intervals other than the first of the month simply send email formatted as in the example below (capital letters are optional): To: [S--DA--E] at [QADAS.COM] Subject: GET PISSLIST The Registry will be sent to you via your FROM: address. Text in the body of the message will be dropped. For those who do not have internet access or who desire a hard copy, you may order a copy from by sending $3 (domestic), $6 (foreign) to me at the following address: Sundance 4275 East Iliff Avenue Suite 106 Denver, Colorado 80222 USA HOW TO SUBMIT TO THE REGISTRY Companies reported to me will only be "registered" if the submitter has FIRST PERSON experience. In addition, companies that conduct Human Quality Tests other than urine tests should also be registered. For example, if your company has a mandatory medical test and reserves the right to release the results to insurance companies (et al.), you should submit it for addition to the Registry. Said tests are also an invasion of privacy. The identity of all registerers will be protected and all identifying data will be deleted as the list is updated. If you submit a company, please try to provide as much information as possible, particularly the available recourse. As many people are forced to choose between the "lesser" of two evils, knowing what the company does beyond forcing Human Quality Testing is important to inform their consent. For those submissions received via email, I will attempt to acknowledge receipt via email. If you do not receive an acknowledgement, please a duplicate message. To add a company to the Registry, please send a note to the following address: *via email - to register a company, set the Subject: to "PISSCOP" (caps optional). The body of the message will NOT be deleted. Send the submission to [S--DA--E] at [QADAS.COM] *via post - Sundance 4275 East Iliff Avenue Suite 106 Denver, Colorado 80222 USA NOTE: If you think an entry is incorrect, please relay both the correct information. But note that FIRST PERSON experience or information is required in order to both register a company or to have the registration modified. Furthermore, if you are employed by a division of a company listed herein and believe company policy to be different than what is listed, check with your human resources department to verify COMPANY-WIDE policy before asking me to modify an entry. If ANY division of a company is listed as conducting Human Quality Testing, it is presumed that employees in all divisions of that company are at risk and thus the whole company is registered. Again, any corporation which conducts Human Quality Testing ANYWHERE within the company is considered a supporter of Washington misinformation and social terrorism, and thus registered. If you are a corporate executive for a registered company and are upset at seeing your company listed in the Registry, here are the forms of recourse available to you: a) if the entry is factually incorrect, it will be corrected; b) if the entry is factually correct, abstain from further testing. In either case, a letter written on official company letterhead containing the corrected information must be sent to the above postal address; emailed information will not suffice. Furthermore, the letter must be dated, and signed with your name and your official title. Otherwise save your energies. REPRINT PERMISSION I hereby grant permission to reproduce the Registry intact anywhere so long as the purpose of the reproduction is to fight against Human Quality Testing or to educate about Human Quality Testing. The Registry may not be reproduced in any manner, by anyone in the employ either direct or indirect of the federal and state governments. Any misuse of this document by federal or state government is strictly prohibited and punishable to the fullest extent of the law. (That's right, I'll try to seize YOUR shit.) Credit to the Registry's publisher (me), information on obtaining updated copies, on submitting to and on modifying entries to this list MUST be retained. SPECIAL THANKS Special thanks are in order to the original compiler of this list, John De Armond. In the revival of this registry, his original one-man crusade is both recognized and appreciated. The anti-DARE community is indebted to his contribution. Also, appreciated is Nicholas Merrill for his Urine-Test listserv, which is provided as a public service by Calyx Internet Access Corp. Employees at SLAC, Stanford University, have learned that many different accomodations to this requirement have been achieved depending on workplace risks.
