Date: 1 Dec 93 19:52:42 CST MDMA is a Schedule I substance (most illegal). There have indeed been some past studies into its use therapeutically: personnally, I've read and would recommend as a good beginning source: "Ecstasy: The MDMA Story" by Bruce Eisner; Berkeley, CA: Ronin Publishing [aka Books-by-Phone], 1989 ISBN: 0-914171-25-9 Includes an exhaustive bibliography. MDMA is in fact currently being studied as a possible analgesic and therapeutic aid for end-stage cancer patients. The testing is being conducted in California, where it has entered Phase II, which includes human testing. Details can be had from the Multidisciplinary Associaction for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS). They are making the testing protocols available. MAPS: 1801 Tippah Ave., Charlotte, NC 28205 General memberships: $30-100. [This money is largely going to finance the MDMA testing, as well as LSD testing also currently underway.] --
