In the book "PiHKAL", Alexander T. Shulgin makes the case for phenethylamine NOT being an active substance. He takes it orally.... What happens when "TiHKAL" becomes available, as rumor says it will eventually. Will the Master list DMT and 5-MeODMT as "inactive" because eating them did nothing? I think not! Yet it would appear ATS has made this oversight with PEA, a 'drug' that would be expected, in the least, to be metabolized VERY QUICKLY by MAO. Before you amateur drug lords rush to your HARMALA, consider something else: BLOOD PRESSURE. Sit down with a glass pipe and try smoking some PEA HCl like it was crack cocaine or methamphetamine. Lets see some data on PEA that isn't disrespectful to our MAO enzyme's abilitys here! I would also question his assessment of the 2C analog of MDA as inactive, as no one attempted to assay it with PEA in mind. In fact, Shulgin even goes so far as to mention that: 1. He's kind of perturbed that it isn't active 2. Mescaline doesn't really fit the MAO structure... What am I saying? If there is ANY psychedelic amphetamine that is orally active that Shulgin found the 2C analog to be inactive, try SMOKING either the base or the salt depending on mp/bp of that 2C analog and you and Shulgin both just might be surprised with the results... ATShulgin has written a wonderful and complete book, and this is the _only_ oversight I know he may have made. Phenethylamine itself is active when injected, although no one has published data on smoking it, which depending on lung volume, ability to choke vapors down and speed of evaporation may be more or less effective than injection. --****ATTENTION****--****ATTENTION****--****ATTENTION****--***ATTENTION*** Your e-mail reply to this message WILL be *automatically* ANONYMIZED.
