From: [c--tt--s] at [magnus.acs.ohio-state.edu] (Coyt D Watters) Newsgroups: rec.games.frp.misc Subject: [Admin] Posting to .announce information Followup-To: rec.games.frp.misc Date: 18 Oct 1995 16:42:34 GMT Summary: posting guidelines Just a couple of reminders about announcements to rec.games.frp.announce: 1) A human is involved with approving your postings. It may take a few days (in some cases a week or more) before your posting shows up. I am working to resolve this*. Make plans to post several days ahead of your event - next days posting does not often happen. 2) Your announcement should have SOMETHING to do with roleplaying (yeah, a couple slipped by me). "Traditional" roleplaying, with other LIVE players. Computer "roleplaying" games such as MUDs or "video" games already have their own groups. I still approve PBEM and IRC games, and I suspect that soon we'll have a multichannel version of Internet Phone which will be great for remote roleplaying**. 3) Your message should contain carriage returns (ascii 13) every 77 characters (or so). Hit RETURN at the end of each line, instead of allowing your software to break lines. The more work I have to do to get your psoting into decent shape, the less likely I am to approve it quickly. 4) If your posting is URGENT - an event cancellation, major news from the gaming industry, etc. You should post normally, but then EMAIL me at: [watters 10] at [osu.edu] or [watters 1] at [medctr.ohio-state.edu] and tell me about your posting. The latter is my WORK address, and should not be used for normal submissions. The former is my moderating address. Thanks for your time - back to the flaming! -Coyt * Very soon, the host I normally moderate from will be going away. I am working on solutions to allow the moderation to continue. ** See a posting about to happen on .misc!
