Several governments have announced their intentions to recognize the new government of Omega Island. These include Aztlan, Germany, the CAS, and the UCAS. Others are expected to follow suit in the next full meeting of the UN. Omega Island has completed it's first elections since the fall of the old government to the combined forces of the rebel PLA army and the German interdiction force. The latest reports indicate that the ballots have been counted and that the results will be announced shortly. We have Rob Kelton live from Omega Island to bring us the results. ROB: It would appear that the election results will be posted in just a few minutes. Mr. Marcus, what do you think your chances are? MARCUS: As I have said before, it is not my intention to force myself on the people, so I have not campaigned at all. Those who are running are all competent, I will not be dissapointed. My only concern is that Micheal Jamain is in the running. I'm not sure if his association with the past regime has been forgotten enough to give him victory. He is a good man, he was just trapped by circumstance. I doubt that our former "leaders" gave him much choice in the matter. Diana Sands and Steven Wu are both excellent candidates, they both have the ability to do credit to the revolution and have no association with the old government, making either of them a likely choice. ROB: Do I understand you correctly? You have no aspirations for political office? MARCUS: Don't get me wrong, there is nothing I'd like more than to serve my people, but I'm not that well suited for the job. My task was to free this country and see that a fair and just government is set up. That alone is more than enough to accomplish in one lifetime. ROB: What would you do if the citizenry of Omega decided that they wanted you anyway? Would you accept? Or would you risk dissapointing them? MARCUS: I really don't see that happening, I consider that a wholly rhetorical question. ROB: I see...It looks like they are ready to announce the results. VOICE: Free citizens of Omega, your votes have been cast and tabulated. The total turnout for this election accounts for 95% of all eligible voters. The results are.... Micheal Jamain : 3% Steven Wu : 15% Diana Sands: 16% Citizens, the person you have chosen to be your president is a write in claiming 66% of the votes is.......JACOB MARC.... ROB: I guess my question wasn't so rhetorical after all! MARCUS: I had no idea... ROB: It would appear that you have a decision to make. MARCUS: I shouldn't have to make this choice, I'm not worthy...at the same time, how can I deny their choice.......there is only one answer... I ACCEPT! ROB: There you have it, Jacob Marcus is now officially the president of the new Omega Island Republic. A vision began by one man has been embraced by the masses. A vision of a free and better life, a vision where people are not bound to the whims of corporate politics in every aspect of their life. Over the past months, people have fought and died for this vision. People around the world have taken this struggle to heart. That vision belongs to Jacob Marcus. It is only poetic justice that the man who first beheld this vision should be the first to lead it into the future. This is Rob Kelton for INN, signing off. RUSH: Thank you Rob. On a side note, members of the German army were called upon by the former provisional government to oversee and legitimatize the elections. The German ambassador has stated that this has been done to remove any doubt that the newly formed Omega Government is in fact legitimate and to prevent the nightmare of the previous administration from happening again. I've recced the arrival time of the sub into DC, and a set of performance specs for the sub. At it's optimum cruise speed and a b-line course, it should have arrived in DC 4 hours before it did. I've plotted a distribution of most of the possible places it could have detoured to. If they dropped off Quention and Fung on land, it could have been anywhere from the CAS border to Philadelphia harbor. If they were transferred to another ship or a plane, they could be anywhere on the eastern seaboard by now. Unfortuantely, that seemed like too big of an area to cover, so I checked coast guard reports within 5 days of the sub's arrival, and found that a coast guard vessel picked up a lifeboat distress signal off the southern Jersey shore. That same vessel has not been heard from since. The timing works out. I think that Quention used his magical talents to hijack the ship and continue. It's even more of a possibility if they did suceed in making another super-soldier, and had him with them. Y'know, back then, I was the only one on the team that remembered to take notes when meeting with contacts! They set up one job without me, a simple retrieval, a cybered Dwarf escaped and Mitsushama wanted him back. Well, we did the job, and had to hunt for him in the tunnels under renraku and bring him to the docks for dropoff. Well, we got to the docks an the others forgot which ship we were supposed to bring him to. The Dwarf had a DocWagon Platnium Contract, so an HTR team was closing in on the cab we hijacked while they were arguing about what the password was. The HTR team was about three blocks away when we unloaded from the cab. Grimjaw said somthing like "oh drek not again" and got ready to fight while I slipped the Doc Wagon bracelet off the wounded dwarf and threw it in the back of the cab. I pulled my Predator and tipped the cabbie a 200 Y if he'd leave real fast. While the others were still taking defensive positions and checking weapons, I simply laughed as the cab pulled away. The HTR van sped right by us and went after the long gone cab. Finally Grimjaw told me to shut up and said we could've taken them. The next 10 minutes were hilarious! We went down the docks (keep in mind at this point I didn't even know who our employers were, I wasn't fully briefed) Anyway, we dragged the Dwarf to the first ship and gave the codeword to the guard. The guard said "what the Frag does Dragon's Den want with a beat up dwarf!" I gave Grimjaw that look, and sai d "Didn't you say this was the place", to which he said "Frag, I guess I forgot which one it is!". That was my first contact with DDI, never did I know what a pain in the ass they'd become. Finally whip said "hey, I thought Mitsu wante d him" so rather than run up and down the docks firing shots into the air yelling "who ordered a dwarf", we did the only thing that made sense, we went to the ship with the mitsushama emblem on it. He's more a pest to me that anyone. I thought he was gone.]<<<<< -Styx <15:04:30/04-30-54> >>>>>[ Hi everybody! We had such a fun time last night at Nightstalker's party! Highlander and 'Stalker tried to pull a fast one on us, but they got it in the end. ]<<<<< -- Jaez <12:19:50/04-30-54> >>>>>[ Your getting ahead of yourself, Jaez. Let's start this at the beginning. Everybody showed up really close to 6:00 PM just like we were asked to. We sat down to have tea and pasties and talked til about 6:30 when the chef, yes a real live chef, announced that dinner was ready. ]<<<<< -- Cerise <12:20:20/04-30-54> >>>>>[ We were all real' impressed with dinner. Nightstalker hired a chef and purchased real T-Bone stakes and vegies. It tasted GREAT and there was plenty for everyone. Crush would have really enjoyed it, but Nightstalker would have had ta purchase twice what he did.]<<<<< -- Circuit Breaker < Who was the Chef? > >>>>>[ And after dinner, the chef served this truly rapturous dessert. I can't remember what it was called but I want to have it again and again and... ]<<<<< -- Sheena <12:21:25/04-30-54> >>>>>[ Careful, Sheena. You'll ruin your figure right before you go on tour. But it was really good and after sitting around for about 40 minutes afterwards, we decided to get on to the main event. I pulled out the bug sweeper I cobbled together and scanned the walkway and stage Highlander and Nightstalker had put together. It checked clean so I went back to join the rest of the gals and get ready. ]<<<<< -- Kichanski <12:23:03/04-30-54> >>>>>[ This is when the real fun began. I was sitting in a chair with a beer in my hand waiting for the show to start, but Nightstalker and Highlander were practially bouncing off the walls. First Highlander takes this small box out of his pocket and pushes a button. Then he and Nightstalker jump up and high five. They hit the ground and look back towards the room where the ladies are, kinda fearfully and then they look at me. I asked them what that was about and after swearing me to secrecy they told me that Kichanski's bug detector missed all the camera bugs they had placed around the room. With a little bit of luck they would have the proper footage to make a Trideo recording of the review. I congradulated them on this devious revenge on Jaez and waited for the show. The show started with Jaez followed by Circuit Breaker, Sheena, Cerise and my personally favorate Kichanski. I must say these five ladies are as sexy as can be. A second round was starting when a knock came at the door. Nightstalker told me to get it, and since Kichanski had just went into the back, I did. And of all the people to show up at this time, Raven (the Mage) was the person who was standing at the door. ]<<<<< -- Lister <12:26:13/04-30-54> >>>>>[ I don't feel too well. Somebody else tell them what happened. ]<<<<< -- Raven the Mage <12:26:53/04-30-54> >>>>>[ Raven, ya poor girl, Ah'll do it since Ah was on stage at the moment. Ya see we knew something was up, so we told Raven ta show up at 8:30 ta see if she could shake the tree up a bit. She walked in followed by a hapless Lister and walked over to Nightstalker. He jumped out of his chair when he saw her and meet her about halfway. "Raven! What are you doing here?" SLAP! "That's for lying to me about going to Omega Island and (second slap) that is for throwing this degenerate party." "I told you I was sorry." "Well, now I forgive you." Raven looked around and said, "Interesting decorations you put up since you got back from Omega. Why did you hang them so strangely?" ]<<<<< -- Circuit Breaker < Lister's got an ok butt > >>>>>[ Well, at this point all of us were in the room, with robes on, and we looked a little closer at the decorations. Jaez and myself noticed the same thing. The Omega Island decorations were in perfect positions to make a Trideo production. We pulled one down and found a bug on the inside. ]<<<<< -- Sheena <12:29:09/04-30-54> >>>>>[ The entire time the ladies were looking for the bug I was standing next to Highlander saying, "Whatever you do, don't panic." Well, the ladies turned around and they looked pretty mad. I was cool, but that moron Highlander spun around and dashed to the balcony door. As he opened it he pulled his grapple-gun out of his trenchcoat. As he stepped onto the balcony he fired the gun at the building across the way. He was preparing to punch the retract button when Cerise, Sheena, Jaez and Kichanski grabbed him, pulled his squirming form back into the room and tossed him on the sofa where I was sitting with my head in my hands. Raven and Circuit Breaker were standing over me saying, "You should be ashamed of yourself!" and "Ya gave yah word that ya would be a complete gentleman!" ]<<<<< -- Nightstalker <12:31:38/04-30-54> >>>>>[ Ya did give your word and those lame excuses Highlander and yourself came up with were truly disappointing. "It was all in fun." "We were just getting even with Jaez for insulting our honor." "You have my word as a decker that I wasn't going to show them to anybody." If Ah wasn't so sure the punishment will keep ya from trying something like this again, Ah wouldn't trust either of ya ever again. ]<<<<< -- Circuit Breaker < Highlander's could use some shaping > >>>>>[ And ohhh what a punishment it was! After brow beating them for ten minutes we decided they must be punished. We discarded several options as either too light or too cruel, and then I suggested we dress them up in the lingerie. You should have seen the reaction on their faces. They both bolted up straight in their chairs and looked like they had seen a ghost. Cyberbrains says, "You wouldn't dare!" We smiled. Nightstalker screams, "Run for it! Every man for himself!" ]<<<<< -- Cerise <12:33:33/04-30-54> >>>>>[ And run for it they did! But they were out numbered. Circuit Breaker, Sheena and myself grabbed Nightstalker while Cerise, Kichanski and LISTER grabbed Highlander! Raven sat back and snickered uncontrollable as we dragged the two helpless men into the back and dressed them up. Lister yelled, "Why don't you take pictures?" After a little bit of looking Cerise produced one out of Highlander's trench and we forced them to parade around.]<<<<< -- Jaez <12:34:18/04-30-54> >>>>>[ You lassies are cruel. You screamed and whistled and clawed at us as if you were in some cheap, male strip joint. I've never been so embarrassed in my life. ]<<<<< -- Highlander <12:35:02/04-30-54> >>>>>[ Your right about that one. For all of you who saw how red Cyberbrains face was when they sang "Loving Feeling" to him at the Engagement party, imagine his entire body that color! Nightstalker took it much better than you did, chummer. But Lister was having entirely too much fun, so I told Kichanski that we should do it to him too. ]<<<<< -- Cerise <12:36:36/04-30-54> >>>>>[ And that was a great idea, Cerise. We grabbed him and stuffed him into a really nice suit. It was too funny. He was begging me to stop. "Hey wait! I wasn't in on it! You don't really want to do this Kit! I helped you with them!! Come on love, no!!! HEY! PUT THAT CAMERA AWAY!!!!" I must say Lister, you looked really good with your beer gut in a garter belt and your hairy legs in fishnet stockings. I'll have to have you dress up like that again. ]<<<<< -- Kichanski <12:39:06/04-30-54> >>>>>[ But that wasn't enough for Cerise! She stood up and said, "I sense something wrong in this apartment. It's here. It's near. It's her!" She spun around and pointed her finger at Raven who had been standing back laughing the entire time!!! "She's the only one in the apartment who has clothes on!" ]<<<<< -- Jaez <12:41:24/04-30-54> >>>>>[ I have to tell you, I've never seen Raven run so fast. She shreiked at Cerise's comment and headed for the door like a bat out of hell. But it was to no avail. The ladies caught her at the door and carried her kicking and screaming, even more than Highlander did, into the back. They slammed the door and Highlander, Lister, and my face and proceeded to get Raven dressed up or maybe I should say dressed down. ]<<<<< -- Nightstalker <12:42:47/04-30-54> >>>>>[ Raven, you should be ashamed of yourself. I can't believe you keep a body like that hidden under the clothes you wear. When we dragged the poor protesting girl out of the room with a robe covering her modesty she was begging Jaez to not make her do this. "Jaez!!! Your my best friend! Don't make me do this!" And Jaez says, "I know, Raven, but its time you loosened up a little more. Take off the robe and turn around. It's for your own good." And believe it or not, she did! Nobody was laughing at his point either. My God! She has a great body! The guys were stunned into silence. Jaez seemed extremely pround of herself, and the rest of us were green with envy. ]<<<<< -- Cerise <12:44:44/04-30-54> >>>>>[ Thanks for telling everyone in the net, Cerise. I have enough problems avoiding dates with leachous dweebs. Owe! I'm feeling really bad. Does anyone know why my head hurts so much?]<<<<< -- Raven the Mage <12:45:21/04-30-54> >>>>>[ It's called a hangover, Raven. In case you don't remember after we got our clothes back on we all hung around until about 4 in the morning getting ripp roaring drunk. Luckily I always carry a case of bews, and a box of various other drinks in the trunk when I go to a party. It saves you a beer run. ]<<<<< -- Lister <12:46:59/04-30-54> >>>>>[ Yeah, Raven. The way you were hanging on Nightstalker's arm after 1 AM, I don't think you'll be needing to make up excuses to turn people down with. It was like you were an extra appendage.]<<<<< -- Cerise <12:47:47/04-30-54> >>>>>[ Your lying! Jaez, tell me she's lying. ]<<<<< -- Raven the Mage <12:48:00/04-30-54> >>>>>[ Can't do it. Nagami told us the legend that worries him last night and now we all agree. I would tell the tale, but Nagami relates it best.]<<<<< -- Feral <14:27:20/04-30-54> >>>>>[Konnichi wa. Arigatoo gozaimasu. Let me take you back to the Dawn of Time. It was the First World, magic was strong, very strong back then. This was when the Awakened, were not, they were as much a part of the world as the dirt beneath their feet. Included among the Awakened were dragons, there were more variations then we have seen today and much like other races, we had the need for religion. Only in the first age, the gods were among us. Meting out justice or destruction as they saw fit. The gods of the Dragons were no less violent or compassionate then the rest. And that was how it remained for many thousand of years, but during the sleep of the Second World something happened. The tales abound as to how this came about, but it will suffice to say that the Queen of Dragon Tiamut was corrupted. She revived first in the new age and slew all the other gods as they slept, all but Bahmut. When Bahmut arose and saw the destruction Tiamut had done he flew off and tracked her down. The battle between the two was ferocious, tearing rips in the fabric seperating the astral from the physical world bringing birth to a new spirit, the dragon-spirit, a bizzare, powerful mixture of earth, fire, and air. As the battle between the two raged on, the mortal dragons began to waken. It would seem the corruption of the queen was not a unique occurance, for many mortal dragons first action upon awakening was to attack their brethern. Mana of the kind this earth has never seen before, and hopefully will never see again, was thrown about. Time passed without notice and the battle raged, devastation abounded and spread through all the races the sidhe, humans, all. No end to the conflict could be seen, a council of the sidhe and Bahmut was held. A solution was found, an obscure ritual that would bind Tiamut and remove her evil from the world. There was a catch, Bahmut would have to suffer the same exile. If the destruction was allowed to continue, Mother Earth would shrugs us off her and begin anew. So the plan was accepted and put into motion and let it suffice to say they were successful. As it would happen Tiamut's resting place is deep in the jungles of New Zealand and according to the legend she can be revived. If she escapes the chance of restraining her is nil. If the portal is not fully opened it can still be closed and that is what we must accomplish. I fear that, since Tirandor has been seen in Seattle, he has finished the ritual. Our time is limited, we must be successful or all will be chaos.]<<<<< -- Nagami <15:00:00/04-30-54> >>>>>[Lovely story, eh? Well wish us luck, dewa ashita.]<<<<< -- Feral <15:01:23/04-30-54> >>>>>[ Styx: I'm truely surprised that a Mantis shaman would mistake Spider as being an insect totem. We'll discuss it tonight at Club Dedd, at the "special" table. I want everyone there too. Find out what you can and we'll make it a general debriefing and planning session. What are you waiting for! GO! ]<<<<< -- Dark Elf <17:17:55/04-30-54> >>>>>[ For those of you who would condemn Mr. Clement's position as typifying a violent, fanatical fringe, permit me to enlighten you. My research suggests that most strongly religious groups have views markedly similar to those he espouses. Even those religions who have come to tolerate Metahumanity (and do not forget all do--the Islamic Jihad against the Awakened being just one case) take a decidedly dim view of the Undead. Toleration for Creatures of the Night is NOT quite so ubiquitous as you may choose to believe. In North America, there are provinces that have legislation passed regarding various undead species, admittedly, there is a particular emphasis against Wendigo activity, but Vampires are often included. Destruction of Vampires is supported in various areas by bounties, similar to the price on Wendigo and Dzoo-No-Qua pelts. Also, it should be pointed out that Mr. Clement, from what I know of him and his organization, does have the means and the will to carry out his goals. Be not deceived, he is representative of a large, militant, and well-armed group quite capable of carrying out its threats, both in mundane and magical terms. Moreover, they do not depend on the service of mercenaries, they train and equip their own members. So, for those of you who presently are cogitating about action against him, consider carefully the wisdom of such a decision, as you may find yourself inundated in opposition. Not only that, but such a proposal shall hearken undue attention to you, which, as I have observed, is sorely disadvantageous in the case of Sanguisuga Europa. ]<<<<< -- Darkwatch <12:42:40/04-30-54> >>>>>[ That's Darkwatch, research expert on the Undead and their wily, wily ways.
