>>>>>[Yo chummers! Name's HyperChord and I just moved here to Seattle from Chicago. I've only been in Seattle for 2 days after a long bus ride. I stowed my bike with the other cargo rather than risk the travel exposed & alone. The caravan made it across the badlands without too much trouble, but I slept just about the whole way - beats having some dirtball chew your ear with his "secret conspiracy theory" My band _Chrome Helix_ was gonna tour the west coast scene and try to pick up a major label. But now that's all drek under the bridge since our vocalist left to become a tridstar in California and our drummer had a `romantic falling-out' with our lead guitarist. The band's disintegrated under my feet and now I'm a keyboardist witout a gig. My bike, my `board & my deck are just about all I brought with me. Where's the Tower CD's in Seattle? Or is there a more wiz place for off-label music & gig-info? I've done a bit of decking as well. I've written a new interface for myself and a couple of utilities for distribution. If someone out there is willing to take a look at the code, I'd love feedback on how it compares to the "state of the street/art" out here. I'm way short on the nyen, but I know a couple a' great back-doors into Chicago-area nodes that ya' might find useful. I've only begun to explore the local Matrix nodes, so if anyone out there wants to give me the 5Y tour of this fair city, I promise to put you on my next album cover! And to anyone out there looking for a keyboardist, blast me back and I'll download some digital samples for ya'.]>>>>> -HyperChord <23:57:07GMT/5-28-92> >>>>>[Thank Goddess, a way out of this 'dancing' job! Send those samples over this way, and you may well have found yourself a singer/songwriter. Good luck in this area!]<<<<< -- Dionne <10:56:23/05:29:54> >>>>>[Okay, chummers more news on this storm. It wasn't just a normal flux in atmospheric conditions, it was rumored by the High Council to be a Spacial Zone Crator, well in a non-Council tone, it was a hole created by unknown powers, to test a new form of energy. I personally care very little what the Council does but when they start to flux my sky I become very upset! Those small sparks were the release of this new energy. I have heard that the Council has lost a couple of fragments from the sparks, so this mage is off to explore and collect....]<<<<< -- Moonscyer <16:50:45/05-29-54> >>>>>[OK Dionne & all you other interested parties, I found some space on the public access database here in the nearest node sea.s5e4.datab.pub as HyperChord.tar.Z. I compressed it so you could save Y on the connect charges ;) *heh*. Last night I went out to some bars around here talent scouting. What's with you guys?! Seattle was a great place for new music at the turn of the century; did the Awakening put you all to sleep? If what I heard people cheering to last night is any indication, 'musicians' are on the way out and 'market researchers' are on the way in. I'll starve before I play with those no-brainers! OK, so maybe Indigo's, Gator's and Cat's Cradle aren't the best venues for good music. I sure hope not! Good news is that I met a drummer who shares my feeling about music. Drek! She FEELS about music. Anyway, her name is Holly Kisaro and she got cybered up for CONTROL, not the chipped-up speed that's so popular these days. Besides, drum machines are still faster and what's the point of emulating some stupid box? Oops, seems as though I creeped up on my soapbox again. What does a cardboard box have to do with voicing opinions anyway? Must be some ancient reference. Just sayin' that I don't mean to offend, I just have stong opinions about music. If Dionne, Holly and I can find some common ground, I'd say the scene around here is gonna be turned on it's head! Dionne, I'm getting together with Holly tomorrow to jam at /Encrypt/Dionne/ $&^MNRS&^)JJ5HGJ!@#8$#!!/EndEncrypt so let me know if you can make it. Where are the good shows tonight chummers?! I'm hitting the town. Who's with me?!]>>>>> -HyperChord <07:21:18GMT/5-30-54> >>>>>[{blowing sounds} Is this thing on? Ok, good to go. I'm now linked real time to shadowland via this voice/text translator linked to the commo suite in the car. The link is made by line-of-sight micro-bursts. This way there is no chance of interception. SITREP: Things have been getting warm from my position. In the past 18 hours there have been 2 RoadMasters that have made 20 minute stops in the alley behind the Divine Wind and the theatre. A tarp was used to conceal movement between the theatre and the vehicle, but thanks to modern tech I was able to see them moving some heavy equipment into the building. Looked mostly like armament cases; SAMS, Autocannon, stuff like that. {sound of soycaf being slurped - rain in background} ASSESTS: 3 watches on the roof; armed with Steyer AUG/CSL, looks to be in the HMG mode. Seem to be wearing fun-underwear too. No other visible equipment except low-lite goggles. 1 mage roving the astral, but my man, The Ragman, assures me that he's meat when the time comes. No sign of any other non-mundanes or para-naturals. {belch} Continuing mission, out.]<<<<< -- Legion <10:56:20GMT/5-30-54> >>>>>[Has anybody here ever been Underground? I haven't. I thought they really didn't like non-goblinized (no offense to anyone) people. How would a predominantly straight human street gang (with corp backing) be allowed to use the Underground for *anything*? Just a musing in the rain... Pass the soycaf, Ragman.]<<<<< -- Legion <11:04:09GMT/5-30-54> >>>>>[Hey, looks like they got themselves an elemental helping out Mr. Meat down there. Air elemental to be exact.]<<<<< -- The Ragman <11:07:11GMT/5-30-54> >>>>>|Legion, Ragman it seems you gotta a lead. Unfortunately, NightShade and I haven't found out anything more on The UnderGround problem -- We have found out a little about InterPlay Toys. Apparently they're a new company that has been importing cheap toys from the Phillipines. BUT, apparently according to customs InterPlay ships one set of goods to local distributors, the other set is just picked up and taken away to an unknown destination. You guys should check the the boxes these goons are moving for either an InterPlay logo OR a UCAS Seattle Customs office stamp of Recent origin. Also do you chummers think this is the Big One - should we move in now? Or do you want to tail these guys a little. I need your reconnaissance assesment at {DATA ENCRYPT Guantlet/DELTA}. If you want support or think the time is right just give us a beep at that LTG. I think that Rojo may be ready to try something - we should blow his head off as soon as it pops out.|<<<<< -- KHANX (14:00:47/5.**.54) >>>>>[{beep}Recon assessment follows: The restaraunt and the theatre together take up half of the block with the other half consisting of various shops (clothing, music and the like). There is access to all of these via the alley. Manpower: The restaraunt has approximately 15 employees on duty at all times; 1 maitre'd dude, 6 kitchen personnel and the rest play waiter and busboy. The theatre has anywhere from 20 to 40 people in it at one time. They have increased rooftop watches from 3 to 4, rotating shifts about once every 3 hours. Still only one mage in the astral and he has a couple of air elementals cruisin' around. Still no sign of para-biologicals. Security: The aformentioned guards and mage are the only examples of security witnessed. Some body armor is present, but it looks more like offense minded funding rather than defense. A quick personal recon of the alley revealed no electronics or countermeasures. A quick peek in the dumpster revealed some shipping labels stamped by UCAS Seattle customs and originating from (here it comes!) Interplay Toys; address smudged out. Armament: 1 mage, doubtful if initiate level; 2 air elementals, weak; guards carry Steyer AUG/CSL's with HMG rig and various 9mm pistols; various visual scans reveal weapons racks, in the building, with 20 SMGs, 10 assault rifles with grenade launchers, 2 sniper rifles (hi-power), and some crates labeled explosives. Most likely grenades or plastique; my vote is for grenades. Assessment: Give me four assault volunteers and we'll give these guys their "Day of Blood". No sign of Rojo Li as of yet. But I'll bet one of his buddies down there knows where he might be.]<<<<< -- Legion <10:15:06GMT/5-31-54> >>>>>[Ragman, Legion: I will arrive on the scene shortly. Ragman, the mage is all yours. You know how I hate gore. But leave the elementals to me. I have, of late, developed quite a taste for working with those fellows, and they don't bleed (at least in the normal sense of the word). As for going Underground, perhaps the Ragman and I might be of assistance here. A bit of hocus-pocus might convince the local denizens that those mundanes among us are, indeed, metahumans. Of course, those of us who already have pointed ears and/or other features needn't worry about such things ... I will be there within the hour. Until then,]<<<<< -- Millhaus <12:45:23/31-May-54> >>>>>|Roger that Legion. NightShade and I will be On Scene ASAP. Will bring appropriate gear. Out.|<<<<< -- KHANx (12:02:08/5.31.54)
