Cerise and I were going outthat evening (last night), and I needed to pick
up some clothes from the cleaners (no, I dn't always wear the scarf and
trench coat, so there).  As I was coming back with my clothing, I started
getting the feeling I was being followed.  Now, I had no idea who would be
folliwing me, myself being the friendly and charismatic chap that I am,
but I was in a hurry, and didn't want to deal with this right now.  P

I pulled every dodgin technique I've managed to pick up from my more
fugitive friends.  I thought I'd shaken whoever it was, if there was
anyone atall, and I was running out of time (helpful hint: never
leave a lady waiting.  Especially a redhead.....).  So I made a break
for my place, and made it inside--safely enough, I thought.

I had just finished changing when I heard a knock at the door.  Thinking
Cerise had come early, I sauntered over to the door......And had it
knocked into my face.  Aye, the door was knocked off its hinges, and I
was buried beneath it.

Briefly: once I saw the lad in the door, I moved as fast as my
artificial nervous system would let me.  He was a tall, asian man,
with slivery eyes that screamed sammie.  Just my luck, I was set for
a pleasant evening out, and not a run, or I wouldn't have been in
as bad a spot as I found myself.

So anyway, there I was scrambling around on my floor, trying to get
to my feet, and this lad just leaped at me.  I managed to dodge some
wicked claws--and I couldn't tell you if they were natural or not,
'cause that lad was changing right in front of me into some mix between
a man and a tiger.  I lunged for my closet, and managed to get it open
and the Ingram out.  Unfortunatley, I keep my weapons unloaded in my
own place, so it was of more use as a club right then.

A club wasn't doing me much good right then.  I managed to keep the
beastie at bay for a few seconds, but one swipe finally knocked it
away, and another swipe opened up my side.  I ducked back to the closet,
and this time closed myself in.  The door wasn't going to hold, I know,
but it gave me enough time to grab my other weapon, the M1a assault
rilfe, and get it loaded.  The man-tiger ripped the door free just in
time to get a chest full of autofire.

THAT, unfortunately, got me cocky.  I saw the creature fly back
and fall, and I thought I'd gotten the upper hand.  Hell, I thought
I'd won!  I wasn't thining too clearly, or I would have remembered how
fast shapeshifters healed.  I found out soon enough, though, when the
beastie luunged at me as I was approaching it.  I got another burst off,
but its impact knocked the gun away, and we both went down.

I didn't feel good at all.  Ribs felt cracked, I was bleeding out my
side, and I knew the bastard would be getting better before I did.   I
was contemplating my third story window, when I heard a very familiar
shriek of rage, and saw the 'shifter go flying through the air.

My own personal cavalry has arrived.  There was Cerise, looking
absolutely stunning in that dress, her eyes flashing, her hair
flying, and her hands glowing with energy.  I have never seen a more
beautiful sight.

Evidently the beastie recognized her--it tried to lunge for her, but
only got blasted again.  Then the lassie blew my window out.  I thought
we were going to try and escape, but Cerise had other ideas.  So did
the 'shifter, though.  While she was doing that, it leapt for her
again, this time drawing blood.  We both roared at that injury, and
I rolled over to the assault rifle.  As Cerise blasted the tiger-lad
again, I cut loose--carefully!--with the last of the ammo.  This
staggered the beastie, and while it was wounded, Cerise made another
gesture, and the thing was flung right out the window!  It disappeared
with a rather pitiful yowl.

Needless to say, our evening was cancelled.  Cerise did what she
could for our wounds, and we left my rather trashed pad.  I'll have to
go back and get my stuff, but that'll have to wait.

Hello Shadowfox and Doomsday. I have no idea if this will work, but this needs
to be done so here goes. I am assuming you have heard from Bruce by now. Or
that you will have by the time you are reading this. Yes, as Bruce mentioned
FireWraith does want to talk to you all. As it stands she also wants to talk to
Shadowfox's second in command. I would REALLY like to know why the hell you are
working with the likes of him after all that happened, but that can wait for
the meeting. Bruce doesn't know about him coming to the meeting, and well,
FireWraith requested that it remains that way. She is highly angry at us all.
I have managed to calm her down enough so that she won't attack all of us on
sight, but I can't promise she will hold that for either Bruce or him. The meet
will go down after Nightstalker's job. The location hasn't been decided yet.
FireWraith is favoring the CAS. I'm convinced it is just to make life hard for
the metahumans. But I am not going to object to that, because . . . well living
does have it's advantages. Oh, and Blitzkrieg has finally managed to speak a
coherent sentence. If you are into heart tearing music, I have a bunch of
