Right after the Pittsburgh run I got shuttled down to the islands to be
patched up and to relax a bit.  My intended fiance was to meet me there (I
say intended because I was going to propose to her when I had the strength

didnt.  She died.  Well, no, you say that people who kick off to old age
die...she was killed.  Act of God, so to speak.  Earthquake.  But I get

While I was there someone had the balls to call my father to have him come
down to look me over and assist in duct taping my ass back together.  He
shows up, does his little dance around the bed thang, and I feel better.  Dont
get me wrong, Im happy to see him and all, just that you dont expect to wake
up from your death bed and have your father standing over you (do you remember
stealing the car when you were a kid and taking it for a joy ride only to
come home and have your mother or father waiting up to ground you for life?
Thats kinda the feeling I got).  We talk a bit, he bitches me out for never
coming to see him and my never being at home when he comes to see me (never
play astral bridge with a shaman...they cheat), we discussed, as per usual,
my returning home...all kinds of stuff.  I feel better.

I start getting mail from the Whistler about coming down because he has some
bad news.  (the fiance fiasco) I stomach that pretty well (at least she
wasnt killed by insects) and a fucking sniper takes my father's head off.

I am supposed to be this hoop-kickin' mage and I dont have a clue where to
start looking for the killer.  I know the trail is old but I could use some

knockin'.  I still don't know if God'll make it.  Anybody have any
suggestions on who to drag along for more firepower?

Fourth point, we've been burning way too much ammunition clearing the
hangar in simulation.  Howzabout we just pop a few Neurostun-VII
canisters in from the beach?  Or Seven-VII war gas - if anybody can
find any - hell, I don't care, I'm just thinking about how much ammo
we'll need to carry.

If anybody wants to try a couple of practice paradrops, Majikthize
has stashed a simulator around here somewhere and then we can take a
couple of jumps out of the Stallion, we've got some sport
