FRIED APPLE SLICES Apples Salt Lard Quarter and core the apples. Slice the apple quarters into slices no more than an eighth of an inch thick. Heat the fat to 350° and fry apple slices until golden brown, and as crisp as desired, about five to eight minutes. Remove to platter and sprinkle with salt.
