These awards operate on a three pass system which includes a general call for nominations, the formation of a ballot and balloted voting. To qualify for the final ballot a nominee must first garner widespread support from the list as a whole in the nominating round. We feel, therefore, that this list is indicative of the "best of the best" of comics and comics creators for the year 1995. We at comix@ would like to congratulate all of our finalists for their work in the past year and would like to thank them for the pleasure they have provided us. We would further encourage everyone reading this to actively seek out these comics and support work of exceptional quality within the comics medium.
