As always, take whatever you read with as much salt as you like. This is a rumour and news column. If you have further information that contradicts or substantiates any of the below items, you know the address. Rich's Revelations: 3 Retractions And In January Firstly, retraction time. One of the purposes of Rich's Revelations is to get rumours out of the dirt tracks and publish them, so that they can be retracted and contradicted wherever incorrect. So, we are proud to present... Rich's Retraction: The High Cost Of Rumour-mongering. I'd like to apologise unreservedly for statements in the last Rich's Revelations. The rift that I mentioned between Charles Vess and Neil Gaiman simply doesn't exist, Charles is currently painting Book 2 of "Neil Gaiman & Charles Vess's Stardust", Neil is writing Book 3, the story about why Chris Bachalo left Death wasn't true either, and I seem to have made a bit of a fool of myself. I apologise for any distress I may have caused to Neil or Charles, any damage to Neil Gaiman's professional reputation, or anyone else involved. I appreciate both Mark Askwith and Neil Gaiman for additional information e-mailed to me. While we're on the topic, it seems that Simon Bisley is a well man. A completely Fabry-cated story. This kind of stuff is really getting me down. Sources for stories always come from people in the industry, I've never made them up. Now it seems that even primary sources (and I use that term wrongly) are suspect. And the last thing I want is a libel suit heading my way. This doesn't mean Rich's Revelations is closing down, but changing. Certain stories will have to stay in the dirt tracks, it seems. I've got a bitter taste in my mouth. Okay, a phone call from Neil Gaiman in the evening was quite cool, but I'm above that kind of thing... 8-) We now return you to your regular Rich's Revelations. Rich's Revelations: Half Way January. Today, my mum is 49. Now, Jamie Delano. Jamie was one of my favourite Vertigo writers, and his stint on Animal Man is one of my favourite Vertigo arcs of all time. However, his workload has been a little short of late, with occasional Vertigo one shots or Vampirella stories. This is about to change. We all know that Jamie is writing Shadowman after Garth Ennis' run finishes. Fabian Nicieza said that Jamie's run will be the same amount of bodies and blood, but that people talk about it first. The gen is that Jamie's run will be co-written with Dick Foreman. Jamie hopes to leave Dick with the series, so he can continue to work on his new groundbreaking Vertigo series 20/20 and the licensed Millennium series, provisionally being published by Dark Horse. Slated artists for this series are Duncan Fegredo and Sean Philips, but apparently they may not do the art as those in charge want the art to be painted. Both Fegredo and Philips have comics-painting history, but they are not so sure about spending so much time on the project. (Source- Jamie Delano, via Joel Meadows) Jamie is also writing Bad Blood for Paradox Press, a graphic novel mixing the detective novel with a story of incest. Drawn by Russell Braun, a man from the Midlands who spent his youth in San Francisco in the seventies, returns twenty five years later and becomes involved in a relationship to a woman, who unbeknownst to him, is his own daughter. A new Aliens series from Dark Horse will read like a dictionary of dark artists. Written by Mark Schultz, Alien Havok, a two issue series will see a colony, supposedly slaughter by the xenomorphs, with one survivor, who took a hallucinogenic substance. Artists will include Nolan, Muth and the aforementioned Fegredo and Philips, with many more to come. We've heard Stuart Moore hint about a Helix series by Michael Moorcock. Word is, that it could be J Cornelius in his own comic book series. Signal To Noise, the Radio 3 adaptation of the originally serialised, now collected graphic novel of the same name by Neil Gaiman and Dave McKean, has been nominated for a Sony Award for best Drama. Twist and Shout Comics' X-Flies: Bug Hunt 3: Aliens is about to be solicited. And it's going to be a doozy. Last night I came up with the most horrendous pieces of word play I've written in my career, one that needs two pages to set it up. Believe me, you'll think the fish joke in Bug Hunt 2 is bad enough, but wait till April... Twist And Shout Comics will be published a short story by Grendel and Star Wars scribe, Darko Macan shortly as well as a Freudwitch story by Brendon Connelly and Jake Hempson, a talented creative team from Oxford. You'll see the published writing debut of Lance Gueck, co-creator of Spawn and long time associate of Twist And Shout Comics. I'm doing the art chores... As ever Dirtbag contines in Bug Hunt, taking the Dirtbag Presents storyline back into conflict with Group 4, who last attacked Dirtbag in the very first issue, over two years ago. Grab a beer and join the party. Rich Johnston Twist and Shout Comics Copywriter Publisher of Dirtbag and X-Flies [r--n--n] at [ea.com] [t--i--t] at [easynet.co.uk] www.netgate.net/~twist
