Created with tar -chvf DeadSet.tar DeadSet

This is the exact data from the Stack 'o Dead concert listing,
plus the 1992 and 93 updates from gdead.berkely.edu, /pub/gdead/set-listings,
plus the 1972-73 update from gdead.berkeley.edu; Thanks to Brian Doherty
for adding it to the main set list! Also, thanks to Charles Caldwell for
the extra "Desolation Row" lyrics, and the "So Many Roads" lyrics.

It's in 'quote file' format, but you're free to modify either the
file or the enclosed quote program that I've been using as a
cheap look-up program.

'Quote file' format is just a bunch of lines separated by a pound sign.
See the enclosed files 'deadsets', 'deadlyrics', or 'samplequotes'.

To use this program, you need to compile it first. Type
  cc -o quote quote.c

This assumes you're on Unix. If you're not on unix, find a friendly
nethead who's familiar with your system.

You'll then have a program called 'quote,', which you should move to
wherever you keep your personal binary files.

The 'help' (just type 'quote' once you've compiled it) will give some
information, but here's some useful examples:

quote deadsets -sMystery
Will give you a list of *all* sets that include a song with 'mystery'
  in the title.

quote deadsets -qy -s"Maggie's Farm" > Maggie.Sets
quote Maggie.Sets -c
"There are 23 quotes in Maggie.Sets"
quote Maggie.Sets -qy -s"Black Peter" > Black.Sets
quote Black.Sets -c
"There are 4 quotes in Black.Sets"
quote Black.Sets -qy -sCassidy > Cassidy.Sets
quote Cassidy.Sets -c
"There are 1 quotes in Cassidy.Sets
This tracks down a tape. The '-qy' tells the quote program to produce
the output in quote format, so you can do another search on *that* file
-- here, we tracked down a set that included Maggie's Farm, Black Peter,
and Cassidy. (It happens to be from West Germany, October 17, 1990.)

quote deadlyrics -sBlues > Blues.DeadSongs
This gives you the lyrics for all the songs in the deadlyrics file
  that include the word 'blues'.

quote deadlyrics 1
This gives you one random song from the lyrics file.

quote 1
This gives you one random quote from your default quote file, which
  should be $HOME/.quotes

If you want the 'samplequotes' to become your default quote file, put it
in your home directory, and rename it '.quotes' (this assumes you're
working under some variation of unix. Otherwise, you're on your own).

Comments, suggestions, and offers to do the work yourself are always
appreciated.
