From: [m--nn--s] at [magnus.acs.ohio-state.edu] (Michael R Conners) Newsgroups: talk.politics.guns Subject: Father of 8 wk old baby dies - pizza delivery robbery Date: 22 Jan 1995 04:27:09 GMT This past week in Columbus another senseless crime occurred. Mark Cockrell, a pizza delivery driver, was shot and killed as he delivered a pizza. The take: $30. That's right - 30 bucks. His wife and mother of their 8 week old baby daughter said "That night was the first night that he didn't have his gun with him." Any legislation that allows law abiding citizens to protect themselves will be too late for Mark or his baby. Drivers (or anyone) are not permitted to carry handguns OR clubs with them for protection in accordance with city ordinances. Ohio has no CCW law. The slime that commit these crimes carry whatever they want. It is a sad day when anyone dies under the circumstances that Mr. Cockrell did. It is even sadder when he did not have the legal right to defend his life. We have become a nation of cowards, ladies and gentlemen. -- *** Michael Conners - THE Ohio State University *** Any government that has the power to give you everything also has the power to take it all away.
