From: [d--a--p] at [aol.com] (D Kaup) Newsgroups: talk.politics.guns Subject: Police Union resolution opposing gun control Date: 30 Jul 1994 00:43:03 -0400 It may interest some that, despite propoganda to the contrary, most police officers are not in favor of gun control. This month the Harris County Deputy Sheriff's Union, AFL-CIO, passed without opposition, a resolution which opposes all legislation which "restricts, taxes, or licenses the rights of citizens to own, bear, design, buy or sell firearms, ammunition, parts or components." The Union advocates "vigorous enforcement of current state and federal laws which forbid the purchase, possesson or use of firearms by convicted felons." The Union represents over 2300 line officers in the Houston, Texas area. Don't let HCI and the Chiefs of Police fool you; line cops know what its like out there.
