Date: 12 Apr 1996 11:51:51 -0400 Why is it that many of us older Americans grew up on farms, or even in the inner-citys, with guns in the house, and guns in the cars, and we all didn't just take them out and do drive-bys and gang-bangings? Why didn't I shoot my best friend with the Winchester Model 77 semi-auto rifle behind the seat, or the .22 Ruger Standard pistol I always kept in the glove box of the car I drove to high-school, when he took my best girl-friend out on a date without asking me first? Why didn't someone steal the high-power rifle I always kept loaded and hanging in the back window of the pick-um-up truck I drove to work for several years after that? Why didn't dad shoot mom? Or mom shoot dad? They both had reasons too do it more then once! An even more reaching question is, why didn't they both shoot me when I was a teen-ager? God knows they had reason enough several times to do all of the above! And there was always enough fire-power around to do it several times over around our house, car, truck, and even in the barn, and out-house! Mass-shootings, drive-bys, gang-banging, and stupid senseless murders are a product of our socity, and have nothing to do with the availability of fire-arms to teenagers and deranged or angry adults!
