From: Jim Rosenfield <[j n r] at [igc.apc.org]> Newsgroups: talk.politics.drugs Date: 03 Oct 93 15:52 PDT Subject: HR3100 From: Jim Rosenfield Subject: HR3100 The Edwards Bill, HR3100, calling for an objective commission on national drug policy has been sent to the House Committee on the Judiciary. Concerned citizens should: 1) Write to their own representatives (where they are registered to vote, perhaps also for the districts in which they work or go to school) discuss the war on drugs and drug policy with them and urge their reps to be co-sponsors of the Edwards Bill. If they are not willing to co-sponsor, find out what their objections are and ask them to put them in writing. Ask them to vote for HR3100 when it comes up for a vote (with any luck I should be able to give you a few days warning on this). 2) Write to the members of the House Committee on the Judiciary urging them to isue a favorable report on HR3100. Writers should read the Hoover Reolution for some ideas of what to say...the WOD is hurting our coountry, we have to rethink our policy, we need objective thought, consider the racist implications of present drug laws, the threat to civil liberties......
