  A new study by Frank Chaloupka of the University of Illinois at Chicago
Dept of Economics found that states which have liberal marijuana laws 
actually have lower driving accident rates than other states.
  The reason appears to be that marijuana tends to substitute for alcohol
and other, more dangerous drugs.
  Virtually every study so far has found that marijuana by itself is less
dangerous than alcohol on the road; however, drivers who combine the two
are exceptionally risky.
