What Is FireBlade Publications™? FireBlade Publications publishes shareware role-playing games and game aids. Most of our publications are not computer programs. We've decided to use the matrix of computer users and role-players as one of our distribution channels. All of our publications are available via computer bulletin board systems and ftp sites. We use the ftp site at teetot.acusd.edu. Our folder there is /pub/beelzebub. To use it, use the program ftp, login as 'anonymous', and enter your E-Mail address as the password. The prices in this document can be fairly well trusted through December 31, 1992, although they are subject to change without notice. Our Products The Magic Stack: The Magic Stack is a Hypercard 2.0 stack that helps you keep all of your original spells in one place -- on your Macintosh. The Brand X Starter Kit: The Gallery and the Gaming Stack are a number of things. First, it's a collection of heroes and villains for your Brand X super-hero campaign. Second, it's a Hypercard 2.0 stack that you can use to store your heroes and villains. Third, you can use it as a publishing tool to distribute collections of your original Brand X heroes and villains. The Gaming Stack includes cards that can be printed out (or kept online) for an Editor's Record Sheet, Character Record Sheets and Character Worksheets, and three pages that can be used as a gaming screen. The shareware price for The Starter Kit as a collection of stacks is $1.00. If you would like a printed version, send us $8.00 (United States only). If you live outside of the United States, write first. What if I can't find any of these? If you can't find The Magic Stack , Brand X, The Brand X Starter Kit, or The Hero's Guide, and would like an electronic copy, send us the shareware price, a blank disk (IBM or Macintosh, 3.5 inch), and a return envelope with return postage affixed. We'll send you a copy. Note that The Magic Stack and The Brand X Starter Kit are available only in Macintosh versions. They require Hypercard. Make checks payable to Jerry Stratton. For all products, expect 4-6 weeks to delivery, although we'll certainly try to get things mailed out within 10 days from receiving your check/money order. What’s the price? Remember, our products are shareware. That means you are expected to pay for them. However, you are only expected to pay once for each product. When new versions come out, you are free to download these and replace your old version (although if you want us to send you a copy, you will have to pay again). Please do pay. Not only does it help us, but it may convince other creators to use the electronic distribution channel as well. Also, if you download from a commercial service, subtract the cost in downloading time from the shareware price. This may even mean you get the product for free. We do expect you to pass it around if you like it, and anybody you give copies to is expected to pay full price. What if I can’t swing the money right now? Look, if all we wanted was your money, we’d shrinkwrap our products and sell them sight unseen. We want our products used. If you can’t afford it now, we’ll wait. Go ahead and use the product. In fact, we recommend that you use the product long enough to decide whether or not you want to keep it, before sending us any money. Send us the payment when you have it, and after you’re sure you’ll like the product in question. Where can I reach FireBlade Publications? You can reach us at any of the following places: United States Mail: (Checks should be made out to Jerry Stratton) Jerry Stratton 3710 Riviera Drive San Diego, CA 92109 Internet: [j--r--y] at [acusd.edu] What if I don't use Word? Most of our publications are distributed, electronically, in Microsoft Word 4.0™ Rich Text Format for the Macintosh. If you use something that cannot handle that format, get in touch with us at one of the electronic addresses listed above, and we'll send you a copy of the publication, saved in Postscript format. If you can't use Postscript either, you'll have to settle for a printed version. If you wish to preview the publication before printing, the Previewer is highly recommended (for Macintosh users). This is a printer driver available via anonymous ftp from info- mac, at sumex.stanford.edu, in the util directory. If you print out a copy, please conserve paper. Recycle older copies, and only print as many copies as you need. Also, it looks and feels a lot better if you print on both sides of the paper, though it does take longer to print.
