Tue Nov 30 20:16:00 1993 G'day, Well here is the first of several monsters I'm porting to Mythus. Please feel free to comment. None of these have been playtested yet (hehehe) so if anybody finds some horrible nasty I missed, let me know. When I have a couple done I'll upload them and a pretty postscript collection. These entries are in Beastiary format so if you don't understand some of the notation ... buy the book ... just ask and one of us who has forked over the dough will translate. The first entry is D&Ds famous Mind Flayer. I creature to be feared by all. If somebody doesn't know the hideous background info, I can summarize for them. Mind Flayers stand about 6 feet tall and have hideous mauve skin that glistens with slime. The head resembles an octopus, with white eyes (no pupils are evident) and four tenta- cles around its mouth, a beak-like orifice. The creature has three reddish fingers and a thumb on each hand." A mind flayer's preferred method of attack is the mind blast. The illithid keep some victims as slaves and feeds on the brains of the others. In combat, a tentacle does very little real damage but remains lodged in its victim. A successful check against PMPow (Hard) will dislodge the tentacle. Once all four tentacles have attached to the victim, the mind flayer has found a path to the brain and kills the victim in 1D4 CTs.
