First of all... why not just create a new layer, set it to 'multiply' and draw your grays on that?. And as for open line artwork requiring a closed selection... well, you can't beat the selection mask on your tool bar... unless you use the magnetic lasso. Is that available in 4? I had three, then got five. ANyone know of a cheap photoshop 6 disc for sale?
