Jerry’s Diner has pretty much all been repositioned. There are still a few book reviews that haven’t been moved over to Mimsy Were the Borogoves, so this site will remain for a while until those reviews are moved. But pretty much everything else—the recipes and the late-night dining pages—have moved to the new site.
- Bull Cook Historical Recipes
- Mere words cannot describe this authentic relic of the nuclear era. Whether you want the Virgin Mary’s favorite spinach recipe or how to prepare for a cobalt bomb, Herter covers it, keeping “as much in alphabetical order as possible.”
- Food
- Recipes, cookbook reviews, food notes, and restaurant reviews. Unless otherwise noted, I have personally tried each recipe that gets its own page, but not necessarily recipes listed as part of a cookbook review.
- Jerry’s Diner Revue
- These reviews of cookbooks and a few restaurants are slowly moving to the Jerry’s Diner section of Mimsy Were the Borogoves.
- Mimsy Were the Borogoves
- The official blog of Jerry Stratton.
- The Northwest Cartoon Cookery
- Review of The Northwest Cartoon Cookery, with a recipe for Joe Sacco’s “What the Poor Eat”.
- San Diego After Midnight
- There is nothing quite like the hunger you get at three in the morning when everyone else has gone to sleep. If you’re hanging with the late crowd in San Diego, come and see where you can time out for a bite after midnight!

- These folks sell Thai ingredients and cooking utensils. I have not yet ordered from them, but they look like they have good prices. Each item lists wonderful Thai recipes enticing you to use that item. This is a very intelligently designed site, providing useful information for us readers while it pushes its products. If you don’t have a Thai grocer in your area, I recommend checking this out. I’m a big fan of Thai Iced Tea. That and a good Thai chili paste would be a great way to test these folks out.
