I’ve seen red ribbons used by the just-say-no people for quite some time now. In fact, two years ago my daughter came home from Kindergarten wearing one. I asked her what it meant: She said “Say No! to Drugs.” I asked her what that meant and she just shrugged. It was a phrase without meaning to her. Since then I’ve had a knee-jerk anti-red-ribbon reaction. They piss me off every time I see them. One might just as well tattoo I’m a sheep on one’s forehead. — Erik Sowa
