Mimsy Were the Borogoves

Food: Recipes, cookbook reviews, food notes, and restaurant reviews. Unless otherwise noted, I have personally tried each recipe that gets its own page, but not necessarily recipes listed as part of a cookbook review.

Food recipes and reviews

Jerry Stratton, October 15, 2005

This is pretty much becoming a full-fledged blog, unless you can count recipes for pesto salad and California tabouleh as “liberal editorial content”.

Well, maybe you can.

The new “Food” section will include reviews of restaurants I happen to run across (thus, mostly San Diego and a few in Los Angeles), cookbooks, other food-related books, and recipes I’ve found useful. Most of the recipes I’ve made up myself on Jerry’s Diner will be moved here; a few may not make the cut.

Inaugural articles include a recipe for the Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster, the aforementioned pesto and pesto salad, and a yogurt-lemon chicken salad. There’s more on the way, as I’ve been building up quite a few good recipes since letting Jerry’s Diner fall behind.

Review dates for cookbooks and restaurants are not always reliable, as the old review pages did not record this information.
