The Mist

Jerry Stratton, December 21, 2007

I just got back from seeing “The Mist”. This is an example of how great a Stephen King story can be on the big screen. It had the mood and the dialogue and the acting down perfectly. No overdone exposition, just perfectly-realized atmosphere and expressions to anchor the story and keep it moving. The actors don’t tell us what their characters are thinking, they show us. I hope that whoever ends up doing the Dark Tower movies was paying attention.

Writer/director Frank Darabont and crew maintain the atmosphere and the horror all through to the final credit. It was a great movie, and I never want to see it again.
