Walnut-maple cookies
Ground sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, and maple syrup make these cookies very rich and sweet.

Ingredients
- 2/3 cup butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tblsp brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1/2 cup ground sunflower seeds
- 2 tsps ground sesame seeds
- 1 tsp vegetable oil
- 3/4 cup unbleached white flour
- 1/4 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup oat flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 3/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup walnuts
- 1 cup “white chocolate” chips
Steps
- Cream the butter and sugar.
- Beat the egg, brown sugar, and syrup into the butter.
- Grind the sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, and oil. Beat into the butter.
- Mix in the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the walnuts and chocolate chips.
- Shape into small 1/2 to 1 inch balls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 9-10 minutes.
Serve with milk or ice cream.
